Abstract

|
|
A 37 year old male patient was admitted to this Department on Feb. 1972 because of dysuria, frequency. and stoppage of urinary stream since 5 years previous to the admission.
On physical examination there were no abnormal findings. The prostate gland was normal in size, shape and consistency. KUB and excretory urography revealed a normal upper urinary tract. On cystoscopic examination there were marked trabeculation and cellule formation and a large pedunculated, freely movable polypoid mass was observed obstructing the bladder neck.
Under spinal anesthesia, this polyp was removed by transvesical resection. The post operative course was uneventful and the above complaints were cleared up.
The pathological diagnosis was hyperplastic prostatic glands with cystic dilatation and intervening fibromuscular tissue element covered with transitional cell epithelium.
